On behalf of the Governing Body, we welcome all the representatives, executive officers and all the personalities present at the 2026-27 budget presentation meeting of the Karinkunnam Grama Panchayat.
This is the first budget of the new administrative committee formed after the 2025 general elections in Karinkunnam Grama Panchayat. This draft budget is presented here with great joy. This budget prioritizes the initial activities to realize the development dream of the next five years after the new administrative committee assumes power. Based on the guidelines given by the state government for various development activities, our budget this time too, like the budgets presented by the previous governing body, is giving priority to housing. The Vice President will explain more details of the budget in the budget presentation. We have been able to coordinate development activities using the available funds even in the absence of our own funds.
Ours is a local body that depends on the General Purpose Fund for daily needs even if the main source of income, property tax, is collected 100 percent. Therefore, attention has been paid in the 2026-27 budget to maximize the utilization of plan funds, loans, state and central allocations, and block and district plan allocations available for development activities.
The Grama Panchayat Vice President, Mr. Saji Philip, invites the members of the Administrative Committee to present the draft budget for the year 2026-27, prepared within the constraints for the comprehensive development of Karinkunnam Grama Panchayat, the welfare of the people, local economic development, and tourism. He requests them to discuss and critically evaluate the draft budget for the year 2026-27, keeping in mind the comprehensive development of the Panchayat.
